An Ocklawaha man was arrested for giving fake names to a deputy two times, ultimately revealing he had a warrant out of Marion County.
A deputy on scene with a stolen vehicle at Beach View Drive and County Road 44 in Leesburg was given a fake name by the passenger, later identified as 45-year-old Reginald Kenneth Jeffrey III, around 12:33 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Dispatch tried to conduct a query but was met with negative results. Jeffrey was given another chance to give the deputy his real name, but instead gave another fake one. As a result, dispatch was again met with negative results, the report said.
Jeffrey was then asked to provide his social security number. This revealed that he held an active Marion County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear for two counts of possession of paraphernalia, the report said.
The native of Italy was subsequently arrested on charge of giving false information. He was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $500.
