A Clermont woman was arrested for allegedly punching her husband when asked about some social media posts she made while in Daytona with friends.
A deputy responded to a battery at an undisclosed Clermont residence around 7:49 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The report said that prior to the deputy’s arrival, an unknown male contacted the Lake County Communications Center stating, “I need law enforcement, she (23-year-old Gabriella Lynn Machado) is hitting me and will not get out of the car. She keeps punching me in the face.”
Once at the scene, the deputy met with the male victim. He stated that he and his wife Machado had just woken up from sleeping inside his vehicle when he asked her about her social media. She had posted while in Daytona with her friends, the report said.
Machado became irate and began to yell at that victim. He asked her to get out of his vehicle, causing her to become more belligerent and strike him with a closed fist in the neck and facial area, the report said.
The deputy then spoke with Machado who stated the victim was jealous she went out with her friends and wanted her to get out of his vehicle with her 1-year-old son. She told him that she did not have a place to go which led to the argument, the report said.
While on scene, the deputy observed minimal swelling and discolorations to the right side of the victim’s neck. He pointed out where Machado struck him twice. He did not wish to provide a sworn affidavit or intent to prosecute, the report said.
Machado was ultimately arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). The Massachusetts native was transported to Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,000 bond.
