An officer responded to a battery at an undisclosed Lake County residence around 9:37 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. While en route, dispatch advised that they got a call from a female who stated her boyfriend broke into her residence, struck her in the face and was still inside the residence.

Upon arrival, the officer met with the female victim and a male, later identified as 62-year-old Dimas Obispo Yuman Parada. He was detained, and both parties were separated from each other, the report said.

The officer first spoke with Yuman Parada who stated he and his wife were arguing. She locked him out of the home of which they had both lived for several months. He had been in a relationship for about three years with the victim, the report said.

After being locked out of the home by the victim, Yuman Parada entered the rear sliding door of the home and began gathering his belongings. He later stated he never struck the victim but did push her during the argument, the report said.

The officer proceeded to talk with the victim. She advised that she and Yuman Parada got into an argument while in the kitchen of the home. During the argument, he struck her in the face with a closed face, just below her right eye. He then struck her in her right arm, the report said.

Yuman Parada left the residence, and the victim locked the front door of the residence. He came back inside through the rear sliding doors, which did not secure properly. He began gathering his belongings, and she contacted law enforcement, the report said.

After speaking with the officer, the victim completed a sworn written statement. The report noted that the officer observed a red marking below her right eye, the report said.

Yuman Parada was subsequently arrested on charge of simple battery (domestic). The native of Guatemala was transported to Lake County Jail with bond set at $1,000.
