Erling Tengelsen passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 26th at the age of 94.
Erl was born in Syracuse, New York. In 1952 he married his high school sweetheart, Helen and they remained married until her passing in 2017. He served in the Navy as a torpedo man during the Korean War. Upon his return, they settled in Marcellus, New York to raise their family.
In 1975, Erl and Helen moved to Colorado Springs. They spent their retirement years in Leesburg, Florida as residents of Scottish Highlands. During his lifetime Erl had many diverse careers before finally settling into the petroleum industry. Upon his retirement he continued to stay active as a volunteer at Waterman Hospital. Erl enjoyed playing golf and motorcycle riding with his wife Helen.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Tengelsen Ring and her husband, Fred, his grandsons Marc (London) and Scott, (St. Petersburg, FL). He is also survived by his son Eric Tengelsen and his wife Toni as well as his granddaughters Erin and Carrie Dumlao. Carrie, an Air Force member, is stationed in Idaho. She is married to Danny. Erl has four great-granddaughters from Carrie and Danny: Adrianna, Brenna, Eloni and Genavieve.
