A Leesburg man was arrested during a traffic stop in Wildwood when an officer discovered his license was suspended.

An officer spotted a dark Kia sedan following closely to a vehicle and turning all functional lights on and off on the vehicle while approaching County Road 213 on Kilgore Street around 11:20 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. The officer conducted a lawful traffic stop as a result.

Upon the vehicle coming to a complete stop, the officer observed two occupants, one of which was later identified as 40-year-old Henry Junior Hanna, within the vehicle switch seats. The officer approached from the driver’s side and was given the driver’s license of a woman now in the driver’s seat. Hanna, the passenger, was identified by his name and date of birth through the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center, the report said.

SCSO conducted a query and revealed that Hanna did not obtain a valid license. On June 18, his license was suspended per a court order due to a DUI case, the report said.

Hanna was subsequently handcuffed behind his back and placed into the back of a patrol vehicle. He was transported to Sumter County Jail for further booking and processing, the report said.

Hanna was charged with driving while license suspended due to DUI. He was released from jail after posting $2,500 bond.
