To the Editor:

I agree with Tom Zak regarding praise for Commissioner Jay Connell for speaking up with what the rest of us are thinking. The Leesburg area cannot sustain more growth with our present conditions. The planners should take an in-depth look and slow down the growth. It seems all they look at is how much money it brings in, blinding them to the reality of congestion on the roads and destroying natural environmental land for wild life – let alone Florida’s waters. We also experience taking a good half hour to drive a few miles in wall-to-wall traffic. I appreciate the fact that many want to move out of the state they’re in for beautiful Florida but let them buy houses that are for sale instead of continually developing new communities.
