Emma R. Chatman
September 27, 1940 – January 11, 2024

Emma R. Chatman was born to Nannie Pendleton and William Williams on September 27, 1940 in Charlestown, West Virginia. She moved to Florida in 1957 and married Thomas Chatman Jr., in 1958.

She worked as a cook for many years until retirement in 1972. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Ararat Metropolitan Baptist Church and the Elk Lodge Temple #1056. In the latter years of her life, she devoted her time as a volunteer at the Neighborhood Center.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories to: Wendell (Sharon) Chatman of Georgia, Curtis (Yolanda) Chatman of Florida, one surviving sister of 13 children, Jamie Milton of West Virginia, 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends in Florida and West Virginia and many loving neighbors.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W. Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748. Funeral services will be held the following day, Saturday, January 20, 3:00 PM at the Mt Ararat Metropolitan Baptist Church in Leesburg, Florida with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
