A 79-year-old Leesburg man was killed Saturday afternoon in a head-on collision in Marion County.
The man was driving a sport utility vehicle at 1:55 p.m. southbound on County Road 464 when his vehicle was struck head-on by a sport utility vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Ocklawaha woman who was traveling in the opposite direction and crossed the center line, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The Leesburg man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead from injuries suffered in the accident.
