George M. Sheplock, 87, formerly of Baldwinsville, NY and currently residing in Leesburg, Fl, passed away at home on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.
He was born in Exeter, PA, son to the late George and Anna (Sennick) Sheplock. George graduated from Exeter High School, Class of 1953. He continued his studies at Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1956, receiving his Anesthesia Degree in 1957. On November 16, 1957 he was united in marriage to the former Dolores Hanusovsky. George was employed as a Nurse Anesthetist at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.
In retirement, George and Dolores lived in Leesburg, Fl and Sun City Hilton Head, SC enjoying their loving grandchildren, family and friends, golf and volunteering, always remaining avid SU sports fans. George was a member of the Syracuse Pistol Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a communicant of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Dolores Sheplock, two sons, Dr. George J. (Lynne) Sheplock of Carmel, IN and John M. (Donna) Sheplock of Cary, NC, four adored grandchildren; Lauren, Kara, Alyssa and Justin, several nieces and nephews.
Services are private under the direction of Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, Baldwinsville, NY. The Rite of Committal and entombment will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery Mausoleum, Baldwinsville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in George’s memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
