His job moved him to Atlanta in 1984 with his family where he spent 15 years. After retiring from IBM, he moved with his wife to Leesburg, FL where he lived the rest of his days.

Emilio was Millo, Papi, Dad, Abuelo or Yeyo to his loved ones. He was a strong, independent, and charismatic man. Millo enjoyed the simple things in life, like an ice-cold Yeungling, watching the Atlanta Braves, and spending time with his dog Mitzy. He loved to share stories about his early life, professional life, and the daily happenings. He never failed to make people smile and often enjoyed cracking jokes. Millo was the life of the party and always wanted to make people dance and sing.

Millo was a very loving man, he loved his wife and family deeply, and was extremely proud of them. He never let anyone take advantage of him and taught his family to do the same. He exemplified what it meant to be a selfless leader in all aspects of life. He was a true fighter until the very end.
