William Stanley Ireland, 81, Of Leesburg, FL, passed away on October 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. William was born in Hillsdale, MI, on June 18, 1941, to his loving parents; Stanley and Eva May (Rulapaugh) Ireland.
William met his beloved wife, Donna, on the 12th of October, 37 years ago at the Newark airport. They had been together since and celebrated 35 years of marriage together. William worked as a salesman for a cutting tool company for many years and in his free time enjoyed NASCAR, cornhole, and road golf (a sport he created and shared among his community). William also raced cars with the NHRA and became a champion of the Bowling Green, KY race in the 1980s.
William was a very social, loving, and likable person, His friends even nicknamed him “The Mayor”. He was always known to have the ability to calm down any situation that was taken out of hand, friends could rely on him to keep his calm demeanor. He was a proud grandfather and dedicated family man. William will be missed and remembered by many.
William is survived by his beloved wife, Donna, five children: Michael Ireland and his partner, Karen, Bruce Ireland and his wife Brenda, Tonia Ketchum and her husband Kevin, Margaret Mckenzie and her husband Lloyd, and Sherrie Ingram and her husband Eric. As well as two stepchildren: Thomas Trebus and his wife Jessica, and Jodi Lyn Pascarella and her husband Todd. Along with six grandchildren, four step grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
William is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Jim and sister Shirley.
