Lowell Alan Kamm passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. He was born on November 16, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Arthur and Helen Kamm. Lowell was the youngest of six children, siblings: Arthur, Donald (Deceased), twins Joyce and James (Deceased), Harold (deceased).

Lowell grew up in Reading, Ohio as the son of a business owner. Lowell’s family owned and operated a grocery store and German delicatessen in Reading, Ohio. He attended school in Reading, graduating from Reading High School, and later graduated from The University of Wisconsin Banking School.

Lowell had an early love of aviation and learned to fly at an early age. He joined the United States Air Force and served in the military as a Crew Chief of a C-124 airplane. He moved to Orlando, courtesy of the U.S. Military, and was stationed at McCoy Air Force Base where he was in the Strategic Air Command. Lowell’s crew flew A Bombs all over the world in the 1950’s to keep the Russians guessing about where they were. This meant that at a moment’s notice he had to leave for various parts of the world without telling anyone where he was going.

Lowell also had a successful career for over 42 years with SunTrust Bank, where he retired as senior Executive Vice President in charge of Bank Operations. He Retired to Eustis in 2000, where he and wife Barbara built a home. They are members of the First Baptist Church of Mount Dora.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara W. Kamm; sons Mark, James Barry, and Daryl Kamm; grandchildren; Katie and Kevin Kamm.

Service for Lowell Alan Kamm will be held on Saturday September 10, 2022, at 2:30pm, at the First Baptist Church Mount Dora. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 2pm prior to the service.
