Donna Rae Barron, 85, of Wildwood, FL passed away Monday, July 25, 2022. She was born December 30, 1936, in Elgin, IL to Alfred and Lolita (Rockensock) Clausen.
Donna loved to cook for her family, friends, and for her church family at First Baptist Church of Leesburg where she ran the kitchen for 12-years (1992-2000). During her service, she cooked for as many as 300 people, the football team, Pastor’s breakfast (3-days/wk.) and special events. At her side was her husband, Richard who washed and dried the pots and pans. Donna cherished her group of friends, their meals and fellowship together, and the support they offered each other.
As a young mother, Donna was a volunteer director in Awana (a ministry focused on providing Bible-based evangelism and discipleship solutions for ages 2-18) where she faithfully counseled girls in Christ for 25-years at Des Plaines Bible Church. Donna truly enjoyed the beauty of nature and especially loved witnessing God’s handiwork through the blossoming and fragrance of flowers.
Donna is survived by her loving husband of 67 yrs. Richard A. Barron; daughter, Lynn Barron; sons: Dan Barron and Bruce (Debbie) Barron; sister, Patricia Hahn; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
