A Leesburg woman was arrested early Monday evening for violation of a no contact order which had been issued eight days earlier as part of a felony domestic battery.
A Lake County deputy had been dispatched to a residence on Crossways Drive in Leesburg when a neighbor called 911 and reported she could hear a couple at that residence having an argument, according to the arrest report.
When the deputy arrived, he met the victim of the previous domestic battery who told him that he had been arguing with his wife, Mary Louise Anderson, but that nothing physical had occurred. He told the deputy that his wife had been arrested for domestic battery on March 26. He told the deputy that he did not wish to press any charges and that it was his understanding that there was not a no victim contact order still in place. When the deputy checked with the Lake County Communications Center he was informed that there was an active no victim contact order on file as the case was currently still open.
When the deputy placed handcuffs on Anderson she became irate and uncooperative. She screamed obscenities at her husband, blaming him for her being in handcuffs. The deputy noted in his report that she seemed to be under the influence of alcohol.
The previous domestic battery case was dismissed in court on Thursday, but Anderson remained in jail on the no contact order with no bond set.
