Andrew (Andy) Joseph DeSario, (87) residing in Leesburg, FL., passed away on March 6, 2022. Andy was born in Staten Island, NY on March 31st, 1934, to the late Frances and Frank DeSario. Andy is predeceased by his brothers Louis and Frank, and daughter Teri. He is survived by his wife Linda Rowland; his sons Mark (Sabina), Drew (Michelle) and John (Amy); his stepchildren Candice and Derek (Julie); 14 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. His family drove him crazy with a variety of pets including Snoopy & Whiskers and most recently Norman, Buddy, Walter, and Bogie.
Andy had a long and successful career in advertising with Reuben H. Donnelley in a variety of places across the USA prior to ultimately relocating to Florida where he settled and retired. During his career he was known as a people person, a strong leader and problem solver who everyone sought out and admired.
Andy had a great talent and love of sports, particularly softball where he played and coached most of his adult life. He also was an avid golfer and had the rare experience of a hole in one at the MD country club. He was very social, loved dancing, joking around, playing cards and in his later years joining the guys on the bocce court.
Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Andy will remember his infectious laugh and storytelling. What most didn’t know was that as a young adult he wanted to be a horticulturist.
