Lake County students will continue to receive free breakfasts and lunches this school year, regardless of household income. However, because of a nationwide shortage that impacts our food supplier, menus may be subject to change more frequently this year.
The school year begins Aug. 10
The free meals are a result of a waiver from Food and Nutrition Services to allow the National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option (SSO) to operate when school is open during the regular school year, through June 30, 2022. Students still have to purchase snack foods and additional menu items with cash or on their account.
