A Leesburg man was arrested after he allegedly pushed his 80-year-old father down and told him he had waited his whole life to knock him out.
Markus Stephen McLain, 56, was charged with domestic battery on a person 65 years of age or older after the incident, which happened Sunday at their residence on Lee Avenue. It was McLain’s second arrest in a little over a month. He was charged March 2 with trespassing in Clermont, according to Lake County Jail records.
A witness told a Lake County sheriff’s deputy the victim stood up from a living room chair and told McLain to leave, and McLain pushed him to the ground and told his father he has waited his whole life to knock him out, according to the sheriff’s office report.
The victim said he was arguing with McLain when he started to stand up with the help of his cane. He said as he started to stand, McLain pushed him in the chest area with one hand and back into the living room chair where he had been sitting, the report said.
McLain was released from jail the next day on $1,000 bond and is due to appear in Lake County Court on May 10.
