Teen jailed on incest charge for sexually battering unconscious underage girl

A Groveland teen was arrested on sexual battery and incest charges after allegedly having nonconsensual intercourse with a sleeping underage girl.

Deputies responded to a battery complaint at an undisclosed Groveland residence around 7:33 a.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. 

Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant. He advised that the night before, 18-year-old Zachary Nolan Meeks was acting strange and did not want to go to bed. This behavior was suspicious, so the next morning the complainant reviewed security camera footage and learned Meeks had sexually battered the victim around 11:50 a.m. Sunday, the report said. 

The complainant then gave deputies a recording from a security camera. The video showed Meeks standing up from a reclining chair and walking over to where the victim was asleep on the couch. He appeared to stand over her to see if she was awake, the report said. 

The victim seemed to be sleeping, so Meeks sat on the ground, removed a blanket covering her and began to remove her pajama pants. He inappropriately touched her on the chest and genital area before removing his jean pants and underwear. He then got on top of the victim and had intercourse with her, the report said. 

She still appeared to be asleep while these events occurred. He redressed the victim and had no further sexual contact with her, the report said. 

Meeks was subsequently arrested on charges of sexual battery victim over 12 under 18 (domestic) and incest. He was transported to Lake County Jail to be held without bond.
