Robert Harold Chaput, age 86 went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born in Escanaba, Michigan on August 13, 1937, to loving parents Leo and Olivine Chaput.
Robert attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI where he would continue to stay in touch with alumni. He was also a devout member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
In 2000, Robert moved from St Francis, a suburb of Milwaukee to start a new journey in Leesburg, Florida. He married the love of his life JoAnn, and they would spend fifty-six beautiful years together until JoAnn went home to her Lord and Savior in 2014.
Robert retired from being a long-haul trucker, a job that allowed him to meet many friends along the way. JoAnn was known for saying that Robert could travel to the ends of the earth and still be able to find someone that he knew. Through his travels he was able to touch the lives of many, leaving behind several friends who loved him dearly.
Robert was an avid sports fan but, his favorite team will always be the Green Bay Packers. In his past time, he could be found playing golf, bowling, and fishing.
Robert will be remembered as a no-nonsense gentleman that dressed dapper for every occasion.
He is survived by his loving daughters; Janet Chaput, Laurie Gustum, Mary Greenberg, grandchildren Meghan, Nickolas, and great-grandchildren Jameson, Evelyn, and Ryker, as well as two more great-grandchildren on the way.
Robert is preceded in death by the love of his life JoAnn Chaput, and his loving parents Leo and Olivine Chaput.
