Daniel Joseph MacGrady, of Leesburg, Florida, formerly of Fort Pierce, passed away on April 28,
2024, just shy of his 79th birthday.

Born on Staten Island and raised there and on Long Island, New York. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he proudly served his country with tours in Japan and at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C., after enlisting for an additional year of service. After his honorable discharge from the army, Danny worked in the textile business for many years.

His travels as a salesman took him to Colorado, where he settled for some time as a proprietor of a fabric store. He moved to Florida in 1980 where he met the love of his life, Carol Heinl, and her two daughters, Kim and Tarin, whom he embraced as his own. He worked as a machinist of precision gears for many years. Danny’s greatest pride was the home life he built with Carol, to whom he was married for 41 years.

He loved to go fishing but he was most content puttering around the house while listening to doo- wop music, whether it be in his wood shop making beautiful creations, his garden or his master class grilling station. Most of all, Danny loved being surrounded by family and friends, imparting his wisdom, telling jokes, teaching card tricks, teaching in general, and raising a glass. Danny died peacefully at home after battling Parkinson’s Disease for almost a decade.

He is survived by his wife Carol, his two daughters, Kim Stuckey and Tarin Lawrence, his grandchildren, Jeffery, Courtney, Rachel, Aisake, T.J., Gage and Beau, his great grandchildren, Lucas, Liam, Everest, Jaxson, and one on the way, his siblings, Jeanne, Paul, Barbara and Erin, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews Carolyn, Jeanette, Paul, Kyle, Rachel, Andrew, Sarah, Ian and Caitlyn.
