Rev. Dr. George Wesley Morgan, of Leesburg, passed away on April 22, 2024, in Winter Garden, Florida. He was born on March 6, 1941, in Hagerstown, Maryland, to the late George Willis Morgan and Bessie Mildred (Valentine) Morgan.

Wes is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy (Lumm) Morgan, his daughter Lizanne Crocker and her husband Danny Crocker of Leesburg, Florida, his son David Morgan and his wife Jennifer Morgan of Manville, TX, and his four grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Mary Crumrine and her husband Gilbert of Hagerstown, Maryland. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Throughout his life, Wes dedicated himself to serving others through his ministry. He faithfully pastored churches across various states including West Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, and Georgia as well as serving on the Regional staff of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in North Carolina and the General Staff of the Disciple of Christ Church in North America. His passion for spreading a message of love and hope touched the lives of countless individuals and communities.

In Texas, Wes pastored at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for 16 years and the First Christian Church in Conroe for 11 years. After over 50 years of pastoral ministry, Wes retired from his role as pastor at First Christian Church in Conroe. His leadership, wisdom, and compassion were instrumental in nurturing the spiritual growth of those he ministered to.

Wes will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his compassionate spirit, and his love for his family. His legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire those who knew him.

George Wesley Morgan, known fondly as Pastor Wes, will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, knowing that his life made a significant impact on the world around him.
